THE ONE WHERE WE VISITED THE Grand Canyon

Back in March ago we decided to extend a quick business trip to a long weekend and explore the Grand Canyon and Sedona Arizona. The Grand Canyon I knew obviously it was going to be incredible, but i didn’t realise just HOW incredible. The moment where we seen the first flash of the Grand Canyon we both yelled with excitement like little kids, a moment i’ll never forget. The stillness was so powerful. You could feel a very strong spiritual sense of the land; it was inimaginable to think of all the history that has happened there. It was an experience that truly took your breath away.

Friday morning we left Scottsdale Arizona around 6:30am. We drove up through Tonto National Forest watching the cactus’s dance by us as the sun was rising for the day. Watching a sunrise in the desert is something else…. We got to Flagsaff around 10:30 for an early lunch at Wildflower Cafe. Unassumingly the food was very, very good - and the staff incredible nice. It was just under 2 hours from Flagstaff to the South Rim point of the Grand Canyon. If you go make sure you book tickets in advance and make sure the points you are going to are open. We had parked along the road at Mather Point and walked to the head of South Kaibab trailhead that lead us to Oo Aah Point lookout. It was a bit later in the day so we didn’t want to get caught up on a long hike in the dark. This was the perfect distance with incredible views. Once our camera roll was full and we took in every last moment of the incredible views we were back the road to Sedona….. to be continued
