Our Experience With The NESTIG CRIB

I’m sure if you are a mother or soon to be the Google ad gods are working hard on you and that you must have seen the popular Nestig crib. I was drawn to this crib by its natural aesthetic and versatility from a mini crib size to toddler bed. At the time we had Maximus we were still in a one bedroom apartment and didn’t have the space for a large crib right away, this was the perfect solution for us to start with. From the moment that you enter their site you can appreciate the well designed site and good marketing. Or am I the only one that geeks out at that? It is easy to navigate and all of the information that you could need is easily found. We went with the wave crib, but there are a few different styles and colors to pick from. Delivery time from purchase was about 6-8 weeks; they delivered within the timeframe. Each crib is handmade in Brazil and meets all of the standard safety requirements. The crib arrived in a few large packages, too heavy for my pregnant self to lug into the house at the time, muscles are definitely required - and the set up was easy (well at least my husband made it look easy, ha). Something that I really appreciate about the crib that I didn’t realize when we bought the Nestig is the fact that it has wheels. When we were in our one bedroom apartment it was so nice to wheel back and forth from bedroom to the living room. Now, a few months later we have moved but the “mini” crib still slides beside my side of the bed and wheels around our bedroom that has become so handy. As of today, we are still in the Nestig mini-crib at 2.5 months young, but this weekend we will be changing it to the full-size crib as Maximus is growing very long, very quickly. The sizing on the Nestig mattress is unique to their brand, and you will have to buy their sheets. They do have some nice options, but if your looking or already have a particular sheet style or pattern that you want it likely wont work with the mattress. For us it worked because I like things to be white, or solid colors. You can also purchase mobiles to go with and mobile hangers. I got our mobile hanger off Amazon, it was a bit cheaper but still works perfectly. A mobile with the mini-crib doesn’t work well because it takes up most of the overhead space and it’s hard to place in baby, so we will add again once we convert to the full-size crib. While it’s still a mini-crib it is also nice having the large spools to be able to see him sleep at night beside me especially in the very beginning. When he was a wee newborn I had him in a bassinet to sleep at night right beside me but I didn’t like how I couldn’t see his face when laying down myself. Especially because it was hard to get up and down after a c-section. Overall we are very happy with our experience and use of this crib from the purchasing process to everyday use, so far!
